On August 23, also known as "Shootout Eve," powerboaters will hit the Lake for the biggest poker run of the summer: the Shootout Poker Run, sponsored by Poly Lift and LakeExpo.com. This event brings a national powerboating community together to raise money for Shootout charities such as Lake fire districts and dozens of local charities.
A Meet & Greet and silent auction pre-party will be hosted by Performance Boat Center from 4 - 9 p.m. on August 22, the night prior to the Poker Run to kick off this event.
This Meet & Greet Party allows Poker Run participants to meet up and get to know each other the night before the event. Participants will be able to pre-register for the Poker Run during this event and have the chance to win some great prizes!
All proceeds raised from the silent auction will benefit local fire departments and more than a dozen other Shootout Charities.
The following day, the Shootout Poly Lift & LakeExpo.com Poker Run will start off at 8 a.m. with breakfast and registration at Millstone Marina, followed by the start of the race. Participants receive one poker hand, with one card being drawn at each stop. With eight stops, there will be a chance to acquire eight cards. The best five cards will make up your final poker hand! Additional hands and other items will also be available for purchase throughout the day. Stops include Redheads, Margaritaville, Paradise, Nautifish, Larry's on the Lake, Captain Ron's, and Big Dicks, with the last stop being at Shady Gators at 6 p.m. with an awards ceremony following.
Cost for this event is $250 if you register by August 19 and $300 beginning on August 20.
