LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. — Two children age 10 and 12 were hospitalized on Saturday after the PWC the 10-year-old was driving collided with a boat, the Missouri State Highway Patrol is reporting.
According to the MSHP report, the 10-year-old girl was driving the 2006 Bombardier Jet Ski, with her 12-year-old sister and father—46-year-old Eric Silber, of South Eldgin, Ill., aboard. They were driving too close to a 1990 Sea Ray driven by 64-year-old Richard Massie, of Independence Mo., the Patrol says. The PWC and boat were headed toward one another and collided, with the bow of the Sea Ray striking the PWC, according to the Patrol.
The two girls sustained serious injuries and their father sustained minor injuries; all three were taken by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital for treatment. The Patrol says all three were wearing life jackets at the time of the crash.
