LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. — A Columbia, Mo. man was hospitalized and arrested on Monday after authorities say he fell overboard from a boat he allegedly stole.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says 41-year-old Justin Coil stole a 33-foot 2019 Cruisers Yachts runabout just before 1 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 5. He reportedly began doing “circling maneuvers” at the 0.5 Mile Marker of the Grand Glaize Arm, near Dog Days Bar & Grill, and was thrown overboard.
Coil reportedly sustained minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital. He then was arrested and has been charged with Felony Tampering With A Motorboat (Class D Felony).
Bond was set at $1,000 cash or $10,000 surety. The boat was released to the owner.
