LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. — On the weekend of the biggest fishing tournament of the year, two anglers sustained minor injuries when two boats collided in a cove on the Lake.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports just before 3 p.m. on Sunday, in Workman Hollow Cove, at the 8 Mile Marker, a 1998 Triton driven by 70-year-old Hamil Goen, of Marthasville, Mo., struck the port side of a 2007 Triton driven by 64-year-old Rickie Knupp, of Mineral Point, Mo.
According to the report, the 1998 Triton had minor damage and the 2007 Triton had moderate damage. An occupant on the 1998 Triton, 75-year-old Arthur Brown, sustained minor injuries, according the report, and an occupant on the 2007 Triton, 59-year-old John Boyer, sustained moderate injuries. The Patrol says both men refused medical treatment at the scene.
The tournament’s last weigh-in ended at 3 p.m., and one of the weigh-in locations was at Alhonna Resort, in Workman Hollow Cove.
