Boat On Fire Near Grand Glaize Bridge

LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. — A boat caught fire on Monday evening after crashing into the shore, and the Highway Patrol says no one was injured.

According to a Patrol report, 52-year-old Todd Weir was driving a 1996 Chapparel around the 0.6 Mile Marker of the Glaize Arm, at around 8:35 p.m. with multiple passengers aboard. Weir attempted to avoid some floating debris in the Lake, but still ended up hitting it, according to the report. The collision caused the occupants to be thrown from the boat, which then hit the shore and caught fire, near the Hamptons condominiums.

The Patrol said, amazingly, no one was injured in the incident. Fire boats responded to extinguish the large blaze.
