LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. — An angler found his boat sinking beneath him on Saturday morning, March 21.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, William Barton, 60, of Orrick, Mo. was on his bass boat, at around the 64 Mile Marker when, at about 8:45 a.m., the boat experienced mechanical issues. It took on water and sank, the Patrol said. The Lake water temperature is about 48 degrees, currently. But Barton was wearing a life jacket and was able to escape unharmed. The boat, however, was totaled.
