At Big Kahuna’s—aka “BK Gas ’n Grill” at the 8 Mile Marker—picnic tables adorn the rustic wood patio with—of course—fabulous lake views, and the groovy, vintage-looking bar is the perfect place to chill on those warm summer days. The restaurant offers appetizers, salads, tacos, sandwiches and wraps, and sandwiches come with your choice of side. Cooper, the bartender, serves up signature and traditional drinks. True to the Big Kahuna name, some of the menu items take a Hawaiian flair.
If you're looking for the ultimate "vacation drink," it might just be BK’s yummy Blue Hawaiian. This signature drink is a bucket drink composed of six shots. It’s made with Malibu Rum, Blue Curaçao, lemonade, pineapple juice, and Piña Colada mix. Not too sweet, the refreshing coconutty-taste will make you feel like you’re in a tropical paradise – and you get to keep the bucket!
Wanting to sip on something not so sweet? The Loaded Bloody Mary puts cool spin on the classic Mary. It’s served with a grilled cheese wedge, bacon, pickle, Slim Jim, and olive. Spicy and delicious, this one is practically a meal by itself!
BK is closed on Mondays. Hours are from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Sunday; from 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. on Thursday – Saturday. Happy hours are on Tuesday – Thursday from 4 – 7 p.m. with 2-for-1 domestic bottle beers.
