GREENVIEW, Mo. — A home on Wolfpen Hollow (Lake Road 7-5) in Greenview is a total loss after a fire ravaged the home around 3 a.m. Monday morning.

“I was in my room playing Minecraft around 3:05 and my mom (Cassandra Boutross) came in and started yelling, ‘Call 911!’” neighbor Thomas Boutross said. “I was confused at first, and then she started yelling, ‘Fire! Fire!’ Everyone had dogpiled in my room because it’s the only room in the house with cell reception.”

They called 911.

Mid County Fire Protection District responded to the fire.

According to Thomas Boutross, he ran outside to see what was going on and he saw his next-door neighbor’s house fully engulfed in flames. “It started in the entryway and then headed towards the back of the house,” he said. “It took off really fast from there.”

Boutross said he didn’t hear an explosion and he didn’t think it was an electrical fire because the electricity had been shut-off. The home was a second home and the owners were not occupying it at the time of the fire.

The home was a total loss.
