CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. — A fire engulfed a utility vehicle and a boat, threatening to catch a home ablaze along State Road FF Monday night in Edwards.
Firefighters were dispatched around 7 p.m., Jan. 26, to find the UTV and boat engulfed in flames, according to the Northwest Fire Protection District.
Firefighters quickly began suppression efforts and, because of the large amount of fuel onboard the boat, they repositioned it farther away from the home while continuing to fight the fire. Additional units responded to assist.
Despite challenging conditions, including snow-packed roads and a steep driveway, firefighters were able to gain access with help from Camden County Road and Bridge personnel who were in the area. The fire was eventually extinguished, and the residence was not damaged.
Officials did not report a cause for the fire, but did thank the dedication of the volunteer firefighters.
