Victor Torres, 36, of Fort Meyers, Fla., was pronounced dead at the scene after the 1988 Dodge Dakota he was driving reportedly crossed the centerline and struck a 2004 Chevrolet operated by Dean Garske of Warrensburg, Mo. The accident occurred at 7:25 p.m., Friday, on Highway 5, just north of Potter Hill Spring Road. Dean Garske, 60, and Kathy Garske, 56, were both taken to Lake Regional Hospital with serious injuries. Torres was not wearing a seat belt, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. This is the 86th fatality reported in 2008 within the Highway Patrol's Troop F territory. Find out about our RSS feeds.
