Head-on collision deadly on Highway 5

CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. -- A head-on collision on Highway 5 has left one man dead and two others injured.
Victor Torres, 36, of Fort Meyers, Fla., was pronounced dead at the scene after the 1988 Dodge Dakota he was driving reportedly crossed the centerline and struck a 2004 Chevrolet operated by Dean Garske of Warrensburg, Mo. The accident occurred at 7:25 p.m., Friday, on Highway 5, just north of Potter Hill Spring Road.
Dean Garske, 60, and Kathy Garske, 56, were both taken to Lake Regional Hospital with serious injuries.
Torres was not wearing a seat belt, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
This is the 86th fatality reported in 2008 within the Highway Patrol's Troop F territory.
